This is my process:

Sketch
Shade in black and white
Do test colouring. New layer, set in overlay, and play around with the colours
Refine tones
Set an official colouring layer. Set in overlay
New layer, set in Normal. Speedpaint

Correct colours via Adjustments

That is so cool! :D

I didn't think you would do grey-scale and then add color...though now it does make sense. :XD:
Do you blend in the colors or just paint on top of the grey?

still love that trident, by the way. :heart:

B/W to colour is actually so so so much easier to work with :o Because you're not worrying about the colours as you do the tones.

Basically, I use the overlay-colour layer to give me an idea of what colours to use
Once i'm happy with the colours i have I make a new layer. That's when i start colouring on top of the overlay-colour, But i do this lightly because I've already coloured most of the drawing with the overlay-colour layer. The new layer is just there to go against the contrasting colours.
